How AI is lowering the bar for the bar

This week, Ludhiana resident Rajnish Sidhu caught the Supreme Court’s attention not for a compelling public interest plea, but for the opposite. Using artificial intelligence (AI) tools — and armed with four jackets as gifts for the court typist — he had filed a public interest litigation on the PM CARES fund.
The judges sensed something was off when Sidhu could not explain phrases like “fiduciary risk of corporate donors” used in his own petition. The court threw out his plea with a rap on the knuckles and advised him to return to his hosiery business.
